Carbon fiber cowl induction hoods have a raised rear hood section that offers more than just aesthetic benefits. They’re positioned at the base of the windshield and typically feature a mesh induction screen that draws in cooler, high-pressure air from the base of the windshield where air naturally compresses at high speeds.
At lower speeds, the rear opening lets the trapped under-hood heat escape, which lowers the overall engine temperature. Auto Addict USA offers a pre-order lead time of 12–20 weeks to customize your ride.
Main Product Styles
Type-ZR Carbon Fiber Double Sided Cowl Hood — This hood has 5th gen fitment (2010–2015) and vacuum-infused 3K 2x2 twill weave. The carbon fiber skeleton is bonded to the underside for rigidity with reduced weight (~15.7 lbs). It comes with a removable and paintable mesh screen. It’s available with or without a heat shield. This hood fits all trims, including the ZR1, starting from $2,285. Preorder is available with a 12–20 week lead time.
Terminator & Terminator GT Carbon Fiber Hood — This carbon fiber hood is available in multiple fitments, including the 2016-2025 Chevy Camaro. The Terminator design incorporates a true cowl profile with a full carbon fiber design. Each hood is smoothed by hand to ensure a high-quality finish.
Materials & Build Quality
- Vacuum-Infused Process: The carbon fiber cowl induction hood is not hand-laid. We use vacuum infusion, which produces a consistent resin-to-fiber ratio. It reduces weight and improves structural uniformity that the standard wet-layup CF hood cannot.
- 3K 2x2 Twill Weave in Gloss Finish: This is the tightest-pattern weave available at Auto Addict USA. It produces the clean, visible diagonal CF texture associated with premium aftermarket parts.
- Carbon Fiber Skeleton Bonded to Underside: This feature adds structural rigidity without adding mass. The hood ships at approximately 15.7 lbs (Type-ZR), which is significantly less than any equivalent steel OEM hood.
- Hood Pins are Required: Hood pins are a safety requirement for all Auto Addict USA carbon fiber hoods and must be included in the installation.
